1 Round•Teams Video Job Overview CenterPoint Energy is seeking an Engineer I to support utility engineering and design activities for electric infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for entry-level engineers with strong technical aptitude, CAD experience, and knowledge of utility engineering standards. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and revise technical standards, create engineering designs using MicroStation CAD software, and ensure compliance with utility and industry regulations. Key Responsibilities Develop and revise engineering standards, specifications, and design criteria using MicroStation CAD software Support design and development of utility systems, components, and engineering processes Ensure compliance with internal engineering standards and external industry codes including:NESC ANSI ASTM IEEE ERCOT NERC
Perform engineering analysis, testing, and evaluations Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on project execution Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and drawings Troubleshoot technical/design issues and recommend solutions Required Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Experience with CAD/design software (MicroStation preferred) Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications Knowledge of utility engineering standards and best practices Strong communication and teamwork skills Good organizational and time management skills Qualifications Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology 0-2 years of engineering experience Utility, power systems, or infrastructure project exposure is a plus entry level candidates with strong CAD/design experience are encouraged to applySimilar remote jobs
