We're looking for a Substation Design Engineer to join our team of innovators, problem solvers, and trusted industry experts. What You'll Do
    Design & Develop:
    • Create and analyze substation layouts, engineering drawings, system calculations, and specifications.
    • Design projects in compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations.
    • Gain hands-on experience with electrical and civil applications, including steel structures, breakers, grounding, protective relaying, and foundation design.
    Plan & Analyze:
    • Partner with member cooperatives, municipalities, contractors, and consultants to scope and deliver projects.
    • Conduct engineering and economic analysis to support project decisions and budgets.
    • Investigate new technologies and apply best practices in substation engineering.
    Support & Collaborate:
    • Provide technical expertise across departments such as ROW, Regulatory, Project Management, and Planning.
    • Assist construction crews, suppliers, and inspectors to resolve field or design issues.
    • Perform site visits, inspections, and testing of substations. What We're Looking For
    Education:
    • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university required.
    • Other ABET-accredited engineering degrees with specialized substation design experience may be considered.
    Skills & Traits:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.
    • Eagerness to learn and apply knowledge in high-voltage substation applications.
    Professional Credentials:
