Job Description

About the Role Deploy Surveillance is seeking a versatile, entry-level Product & Systems Engineer to support the technical lifecycle and continuous improvement of our mobile security trailer fleet. This role is designed for a proactive, recent graduate who thrives on a balance of systems design, hands-on hardware integration, and real-world problem-solving. Reporting directly to the Technical Program Manager (TPM), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our mobile units—powered by sophisticated solar and battery ecosystems—remain operational, reliable, and cutting-edge. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on, end- to-end product lifecycle experience while bridging the gap between product engineering and field deployment.
Key Responsibilities System Integration:
Assemble, configure, and optimize advanced power management systems under the guidance of the TPM, including solar charge controllers, battery balancers, and distribution plates.
Testing & Innovation:
Actively test new trailer features, prototype hardware upgrades, and validate system performance to drive iterative product improvements.
Hardware & Network Deployment:
Install and configure high-end IP network cameras, specialized audio systems, emergency strobe lighting, and cellular gateways.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
Perform rapid root-cause analysis and resolve complex electrical and hardware failures on active trailers in the shop and in the field.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Collaborate closely with the TPM to track project milestones, document technical specs, update bill of materials (BOM), and translate field data into design improvements.
Field Support & Travel:
Provide hands-on technical support where it's needed most. This position requires occasional travel to field sites to diagnose issues, perform upgrades, or assist with critical deployments.
Qualifications & Technical Skills Education:
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required. Recent graduates with strong project experience are highly encouraged to apply.
Applied Technical Aptitude:
Demonstrated experience with hands-on projects (e.g., electronics repair, automotive electrical, robotics, or senior capstone projects). Proficiency with power tools and diagnostic equipment is prefered.
Systems Logic:
Foundational understanding of DC power systems, solar charging profiles, and the ability to read electrical schematics are highly desirable.
Testing & Validation:
Experience executing systematic testing, root-cause analysis, and validation protocols on hardware, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Communication & Adaptability:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to provide clear updates to the TPM. Ability to pivot smoothly between a workshop fabrication environment and field-side troubleshooting. Our Culture & Professional Values At Deploy Surveillance, we hire for character as much as for technical skill. We are looking for a teammate who aligns with the following:

You take pride in the quality of your work and operate with total transparency and professional ethics. The "Tinkerer"
