Job Description

Senior Superintendent - Heavy Earthwork & Utilities We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to lead field operations for large-scale heavy civil projects with a focus on earthwork and underground utilities (storm, water, sewer) . This individual will play a critical role in driving project execution, safety, and team performance across commercial, residential, and federal/government projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all field operations for heavy earthwork and underground utility installation Manage site superintendents, foremen, crews, and subcontractors Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget Coordinate daily with project management, engineering, and ownership teams Lead planning and sequencing of mass grading, excavation, and utility installation Enforce safety standards and maintain compliance with OSHA and project-specific requirements Monitor productivity, quality control, and site logistics Conduct regular site meetings and provide progress reporting
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a strong focus on earthwork and underground utilities Proven track record managing commercial, residential, and/or federal/government projects Strong leadership and team management skills Deep understanding of site development, grading, and utility installation practices Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules Experience working with project management and scheduling software is a plus
