As a Utilities Engineer - Transportation you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish. Key Responsibilities Work with a project team consisting of engineers, designers, third-party/utility coordinators and field personnel involved in the design, relocation, coordination, modification, analysis, and constructability of new and existing utility systems as part of large-scale transportation projects Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of engineering and construction-related issues Coordinate utility relocation/coordination efforts on behalf of Federal, State, and Local agencies or utility infrastructure owners Follow Federal, State and Local codes, administrative rules, ordinances, regulations and requirements Coordinate design activities to ensure installation and operations will comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements Work with a team for the execution of detailed design phases for all aspects of utility engineering and coordination work Assist with preparation, review, and/or approval of proposals, contracts, and cost estimates Assist with negotiation of revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with sub-consultants, and clients Work with a team to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget Prepare reports and studies that present technical information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation Leadership opportunities depending on experience Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Degree Professional Engineering License 5+ years of total experience 2+ years of experience in transportation engineering, design or construction fields Ability to effectively contribute to engineering, design or construction projects Proficiency in MicroStation (ORD) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required Benefits At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
