Utilities Project Engineer:
As a Utilities Engineer, your main focus will be managing and optimizing utility systems, particularly industrial refrigeration, boilers, and compressed air systems. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing innovative projects, as well as troubleshooting and fine-tuning existing systems. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in guiding regulatory compliance efforts to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Job Duties & Responsibilities of the
Utilities Project Engineer:
Collaborate with facilities teams and project engineering to develop Capital Infrastructure Plans. Coordinate with professional refrigeration engineering resources during project design and development. Assist facilities and PSM Management Team with compliance-related issues upon request. Participate in developing designs, including equipment selection, obtaining quotes, and scheduling work based on requests. Develop and support the implementation of solutions to issues concerning facility refrigeration systems. Implement new systems and establish equipment standards. Aid in the planning and budgeting process for various utilities engineering improvement projects to meet project expectations and timelines. Optimize utility systems according to facility operational needs. Identify and address deficiencies in existing systems through load, charge, and relief calculations. Explore and assist in testing new technologies. Analyze complex operations and systems to support Operations management. Education & Experience Requirements of the
Utilities Project Engineer:
A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university, with at least 2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. An
RETA CIRO
(Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator) certification from the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration, ANSI/IIAR2 certification, Garden City Program Operator II certification, or equivalent certification from another nationally recognized ammonia training program is required. Demonstrated theoretical understanding of industrial refrigeration systems and their application to the role is necessary. Strong reading, math, writing, and analytical skills are required. Ability to efficiently perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Enthusiasm for collaboration through travel to other locations (50% of the time). Experience with electrical troubleshooting in low and high voltage circuits, motors, and controls. Preferred experience in waste water operations. Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while working effectively with others. Demonstrated respect, approachability, and teamwork in building strong working relationships and fostering a positive work environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD. Experience with Ammonia Refrigeration systems. Knowledge of utilities systems. Cradle to grave Project Management experience.
