N C Power Systems is looking for a Power Generation Sales Representative based in Central Washington. This is a technical, consultative sales role focused on helping customers identify, configure, quote, and purchase Caterpillar standby and prime power solutions, including large-capacity generators and related emergency power equipment. This is not electrical service sales. This is not selling electricity. This is not a traditional transactional sales role. This is a role for someone who enjoys building relationships, understanding customer needs, visiting job sites, reviewing specifications, coordinating with technical teams, and developing power generation solutions that help customers keep their operations running. About the opportunity In this role, you will sell emergency and prime power solutions to end users, electrical contractors, and organizations that depend on reliable power. You will spend time in the field meeting with customers, visiting job sites, understanding project requirements, and identifying how N C Power Systems can support the customer's power generation needs. You will also work closely with vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members to develop accurate, complete, and competitive proposals. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the combination of: Technical solution selling Relationship building Field visits and customer interaction Project specifications and quoting Contractor and end-user relationships Critical infrastructure and backup power systems Independent sales activity with strong internal technical support What You'll Be Selling You will focus on power generation solutions , including: Caterpillar generators Standby emergency power systems Prime power solutions Transfer switches Paralleling switchgear Supporting emergency power equipment Related third-party components, labor, logistics, delivery, and commissioning support What You'll Be Doing Build Relationships with Customers and Contractors Make frequent in-person sales calls Develop and grow relationships with end users and electrical contractors Prospect for new accounts and new project opportunities Stay responsive and proactive throughout the sales process Follow up consistently after quotes and proposals Use CRM tools to maintain account, project, and opportunity information Understand Customer Needs and Job Site Requirements Travel to customer locations and job sites throughout the territory Ask questions to understand the customer's power needs Identify whether the need is standby, emergency, prime, or project-specific power Coordinate with internal experts to determine the right solution Help customers understand available Caterpillar power generation options Develop Power Generation Proposals Configure and quote custom emergency and prime power solutions Include Caterpillar products, third-party components, labor, logistics, delivery, and commissioning requirements in proposals Review vendor and subcontractor quotes for accuracy and completeness Use Customer Solutions Quoter and related tools to develop customer proposals Apply value engineering approaches when appropriate to meet or exceed project specifications Work with Plans, Specifications, and Active Projects Research plan rooms for active projects involving generators and standby power Review site plans, electrical drawings, and project specifications Identify projects involving generators, transfer switches, and paralleling switchgear Develop bidder lists to ensure interested contractors receive proposals Coordinate with internal engineering and service teams to support the customer solution Continuous Training the Industry Build your knowledge of Caterpillar power generation products Learn competitor products and market trends Attend trade shows, conferences, customer events, and factory training Stay current on product offerings and applicable code requirements Continue developing technical knowledge in power generation systems What Success Looks Like You will be successful in this role if you: Enjoy consultative, technical sales Like getting out in the field and meeting customers face-to-face Can build trust with contractors, owners, engineers, and internal teams Are curious enough to learn power generation systems and customer applications Can read and interpret project information, specifications, and technical documents Are organized and disciplined with follow-up Communicate clearly and professionally Have a sense of urgency and responsiveness Can coordinate details across customers, vendors, engineering, service, and project teams Are motivated by both relationship building and closing business Want to sell something tangible, important, and mission-critical What Makes This Role Different This is a sales role, but it is not just about making calls and closing deals. The Right Candidate May Come From Generator or power systems sales Engineered equipment sales Industrial equipment sales Construction equipment sales Electrical distribution or electrical supply sales Mechanical or electrical project sales HVAC, controls, pumps, compressors, or other technical equipment sales Contractor-facing business development Project estimating or technical sales support Electrical, mechanical, or power generation industry experience with a desire to move into sales A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred but equivalent technical industry experience, sales experience, or project-based customer experience is also valuable. What We're Looking For Required Strong relationship-building and customer communication skills Ability to travel to customer locations and job sites Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to manage a territory, follow up consistently, and maintain accurate CRM information Comfort learning technical products, systems, and customer applications Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently while coordinating with internal teams Professional written and verbal communication skills Preferred Experience selling generators, power systems, industrial equipment, electrical equipment, or other technical solutions Experience working with contractors, engineers, project managers, facility managers, or industrial customers Familiarity with standby power, prime power, transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, or electrical/mechanical systems Experience reviewing project specifications, drawings, proposals, or bid documents Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, business, construction management, or related field Prior experience using CRM, quoting, project management, spreadsheet, and presentation tools Travel and Work Requirements This role is based in Wenatchee, WA and will include regular travel to customer locations and job sites throughout N C Power Systems Central Washington the territory. You will work in an office and field-sales environment, with frequent travel to customer sites. Travel may also include factory visits, packager or assembler visits, dealer meetings, customer events, technical training, trade shows, and conferences. This is a full-time role that may occasionally require work beyond a standard business day, including some evenings or weekends based on customer or project needs. An N C Power Systems sales truck will be provided. Pay and Benefits N C Power Systems offers a competitive benefits package, including: On target (OTE) potential for first year is $75,000 to $100,000 which includes a starting base salary plus commission.
