Job Description

About the Role As a Systems Controls Engineer, you will lead the design and optimization of sophisticated electrical architectures for industrial machinery. Your work will directly enhance machine efficiency, operational safety, and system reliability by bridging the gap between conceptual design and real-world performance. Responsibilities Architect and implement robust PLC and HMI control solutions to drive industrial automation. Engineer comprehensive electrical systems, integrating VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and critical safety hardware. Produce high-quality technical documentation, including detailed schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams. Ensure all designs strictly adhere to NFPA, UL, and OSHA safety standards to guarantee operator protection. Manage component selection and BOM development to optimize cost and system performance. Oversee the full lifecycle of electrical systems, from initial panel assembly and wiring to final system verification. Execute factory acceptance testing (FAT) and lead on-site commissioning to ensure seamless integration. Provide expert-level troubleshooting and technical guidance to internal teams and end-users during startup phases. Qualifications Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline. 3+ years of professional experience in industrial automation or control systems. Proficiency in PLC programming and HMI interface development. Deep understanding of industrial power systems, including 480V distribution, motors, and VFDs. Proven ability to interpret and draft complex electrical schematics. Preferred Skills Direct experience with motion control and high-precision servo systems. In-depth knowledge of UL 508A and NFPA 79 compliance standards. Hands-on background in heavy machinery or complex processing equipment. Demonstrated success in field startup, commissioning, and post-installation support.
