Job Description

Sun Prairie, WI WPPI Energy seeks a motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Transmission Engineer. This position is responsible for addressing WPPI Energy's interests in the areas of transmission and congestion. WPPI Energy is a not-for-profit, regional power company serving 51 locally owned electric utilities. Through WPPI Energy, these public power utilities share resources and own generation facilities to provide reliable, affordable electricity to approximately 220,000 homes and businesses in Wisconsin, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and Iowa.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent WPPI Energy in the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc (MISO) stakeholder process, tracking transmission related issues, coordinating internal position, and advocating WPPI's interest in regional forums. Stay current on and ensure compliance with MISO and other applicable regional electricity market and transmission service requirements. Monitor and evaluate MISO transmission planning activities, including projects recommended for Board approval, with a focus on cost allocation impacts to WPPI and opportunities for mitigation or enhancement. Participate in key MISO committees and working groups.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or another related field At least five years of engineering experience in the utilities industry An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered Strong technical aptitude and keen attention to detail. Knowledge of the MISO market a plus
Starting Salary:
$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications WPPI Energy is proud to provide our staff with a flexible and employee-friendly work environment.
