As a Principal Project Engineer, you will be part of our Engine Controls team driving programmatic and technical excellence for our New Product Development (NPD) Programs for the Engine and Fluid Controls portfolio within the Controls Systems SBU. You will be integral in the leadership of New Product and New Business Development for pneumatic mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies spanning Engine Control, Air and Thermal Valves, and Air Turbine Start Systems leveraged across commercial and defense platforms. You will be involved as a project, product, or system engineering leader for NPD product life cycle, from the planning and concept phases through equipment or system verification and early production support. Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical leadership for the Engine Controls Valves and Start System Product Portfolio Project leadership, management of performance and execution Internal/External Customer technical communication and relationship management Technical problem solving/Root cause analysis Proposal development support including the creation of engineering basis of estimates and technical volumes, knowledgeable of requirements, resources, and schedule needs. Assess customer, industry, and regulatory requirements documentation Peer mentorship and employee development Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering or a related discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, or mathematics. 9 years or more of Engineering experience working in Aerospace Engineering on system and equipment development. Experience in the new product development life cycle, including an understanding of equipment design, system design, and/or programmatic execution Customer interfacing experience, with the ability to convey complex messages clearly and appropriately.

New Product Development, Process, and/or Manufacturing experience in Aerospace Experience with peer mentorship and team development Experience in leading complex teams of 10+ direct contributors Complex system development and process experience in Aerospace Ability to hold and implement a strong management operating system Experience working with or leading multiple Sites domestically and globally Strong Earned Value Management Experience, applying EV principles to Cost, schedule, and milestone development/management Risk (threats/opportunities) development and management Leadership Skills — specifically executive communication, presence, decision making, and driving results, with a bias for action Ability to create specific action plans, prioritize time, and resources effectively Able to convey technical ideas and concepts through team discussions, presentations, and in writing Experience with Pneumatic-Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Systems Experience with DOORs or DOORS Next Gen Experience with ELM (Engineering Lifecycle Management)
