Purosil is seeking a Product Development Engineer to support new product development, process optimization, and manufacturing innovation across our operations in the U.S. and India. This role works closely with customers, engineering, production, and leadership teams to deliver robust, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical design, manufacturing engineering, APQP processes, and product launch activities within a manufacturing environment.
You Should Know How To:
Develop new products based on customer requirements and technical specifications. Review, communicate, and negotiate technical requirements with customers and internal teams. Manage product launch activities from initial inquiry through production using APQP methodology. Design and improve tooling, manufacturing methods, and production processes for efficiency and consistency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives on the manufacturing floor. Coordinate customer requirements with production teams in India and the U.S. Perform testing, verification, and validation activities to ensure product specifications are achieved. Create and maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, ECNs, and DCNs in support of ISO/TS requirements. Conduct FMEA and PPAP activities as required. Support equipment installation, startup, qualification, and validation activities including IOQ and PQ. Implement SPC and Process Capability (Cpk) monitoring methods to improve manufacturing performance. Train technicians and operators on new equipment, manufacturing processes, and procedures. Evaluate automation opportunities, manufacturing improvements, and cost reduction initiatives. Work collaboratively across engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to solve complex production challenges. Travel as required to support operations and customer needs.
You Should Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. 3+ years of experience in mechanical design and product launch activities. Experience with APQP processes. Strong understanding of DOE (Design of Experiments) methodologies. Proficiency with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks. Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to learn and utilize ERP systems. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferably:
Experience in hose product development. Experience in rubber manufacturing or polymer-based products. Experience implementing SPC and process capability improvement methods. Experience supporting automation or continuous improvement projects within manufacturing. Our Team Our Company is located in Corona. This is a fully on-site position where you will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and leadership teams. You will play a key role in driving product innovation and manufacturing excellence while operating with a high degree of ownership and independence.
