Job Title:
Product Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Product Design Engineer to develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for both new and legacy products. This role involves hands-on product engineering and design using 3D CAD, as well as creating Excel macros and formulas to prepare BOM data for ERP system integration. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with IT and participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure the accurate and timely upload of data. Responsibilities Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for new and legacy products. Perform product engineering and design using 3D CAD software. Create and utilize Excel macros and formulas to prepare BOM data for ERP system integration. Collaborate with IT to ensure accurate and timely data uploads into the ERP system. Participate in cross-functional meetings with design, engineering, and operations teams. Essential Skills Proficiency in Excel and Access, including the use of macros and formulas for data automation. Experience with 3D CAD software. 3-5+ years of relevant experience with bill of material, data management, or ERP-related roles. Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, or related discipline. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with ERP systems is preferred. Experience with design and analysis of wood or aluminum products is ideal. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, FEA, GD&T, and 3D design. Work Environment This role is 100% desk-based, involving product design project work and organizing BOMs using Excel formula sheets. You will be part of a transformative project impacting multiple departments including manufacturing, quality, design, and IT. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dubuque, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $42.00/hr.
