Job Description

Job Description We are currently seeking an SMT Engineer to support an international organization focused on design and manufacturing of advanced interconnect solutions. This engineer will be joining a team focused on new product and R D work. Daily it will be expected that this engineer will spend 40% of their time supporting new product development, 20% of their time focused on R D, and 40% of their time interacting with customers understanding product concerns/constraints to recreate the issue to diagnose technical defects. This will include partnering closely with internal teams and external customers to develop, troubleshoot, and optimize SMT processing solutions for new and existing connector products. The engineer will be responsible for hands on soldering and board level work, developing thermal profiles, selecting solder paste and stencils, reviewing Gerber data and PCB footprints, and ensuring proper connector to board integration. This role owns technical report writing, documentation of processes and procedures, and customer communication throughout the full new product lifecycle—from concept through production—often supporting customers adoption. Strong problem solving skills, technical writing, and the ability to guide cautious customers through complex SMT processes are critical for success. We are seeking someone that is curious and passionate about their work and wants to grow with the organization long term. This a fulltime, direct hire opportunity with a salary range of 90-135k depending on experience. We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. We are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer that believes everyone matters. Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to HR@insightglobal.com.
