Job Description

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in EngineeringRequired Qualifications / Skills /
Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in a related field
  • Strong knowledge of problem-solving techniques and methodologies
  • Hands-on experience in prototyping and design validation/model building
  • Strong static and dynamic analytical skills
  • Experience with CAD modeling (Creo preferred)
  • Knowledge of applicable manufacturing processes
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environmentPreferred Qualifications / Skills /
Experience:
  • Basic awareness of stage gate product development processes
  • Understanding of product cost estimation, capital expenses, and benchmarking
  • Knowledge of industry technologies and ideation techniques
  • Understanding of intellectual property concepts
  • Exposure to Six Sigma methodologies, process capability (Cpk), and statistical analysis
  • Familiarity with metrology equipment
  • Experience supporting
DFMEA/PFMEA
processes
  • Exposure to root cause analysis, Lean processes, and Kaizen activities
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing equipment, tools, materials, and supplier selection
Product Development Engineer Overview:
The Product Development Engineer is responsible for supporting new product development (NPD) initiatives for both new and existing products within a cross-functional team environment. This role involves contributing to product design, validation, and launch activities while ensuring alignment with organizational processes and quality standards. The position requires collaboration across multiple functions such as Marketing, Industrial Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure successful product development. Limited travel may be required
Job Duties:
  • Participate in engineering efforts for NPD projects from concept through production launch
  • Follow the organization's Product Development Process
  • Ensure products meet cost, timeline, and performance specifications
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
  • Assist in development of technical specifications for new products
  • Create test methods based on identified risks in DFMEA
  • Contribute to Engineering Change Requests (ECR) / Engineering Change Notices (ECN)
  • Support creation of components and assemblies using design tools
  • Assist in defining both technical and non-technical deliverables for product releases
  • Conduct or support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support evaluation of manufacturing processes, materials, and supplier selection
  • Understand product design requirements (functional and aesthetic)
