Product Engineer Performance Health Holdings, Inc. 80000.00 To 100000.00 (USD) Annually paid time off United States, Ohio, Akron 1245 Home Avenue (Show on map) Apr 27, 2026 Performance Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rubber and Elastomeric Engineer to join our team in Akron, OH. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in engineering, with a focus on rubbers and elastomers, and have at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in natural and synthetic formulations, as well as extensive knowledge of extrusion processes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of our rubber-based products. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Conduct research and development activities to optimize rubber and elastomeric formulations, processes, and properties
Design and execute experiments to characterize and evaluate the performance of elastomeric materials, with an emphasis on natural and synthetic rubber
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products and improve existing ones, ensuring they meet customer requirements and industry standards
Provide technical expertise and support to manufacturing operations, troubleshooting issues related to extrusion processes and rubber materials
Develop and implement quality control procedures and test methods to ensure consistent product quality and compliance with specifications
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements and trends in rubber/elastomer science and engineering, sharing knowledge and insights with the team
Analyze and interpret experimental data, preparing reports and presenting findings to management and stakeholders
Work closely with suppliers and external partners to evaluate new materials and technologies for potential use in product development
Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and waste minimization, proposing and implementing relevant improvements
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout all stages of product development and manufacturing
Performs other duties as assigned Job Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an elastomeric/rubber engineering role, preferably in the rubber industry
Strong knowledge of elastomeric chemistry, processing techniques, and structure-property relationships
Experience with natural and synthetic rubber, including compounding and vulcanization processes
Proficiency in extrusion processes, with hands-on experience in designing and optimizing extrusion lines
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations governing rubber materials and processes
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and analyze experiments, utilizing statistical tools and methodologies
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical information to diverse audiences
Self-motivated and proactive, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously

This is a full-time position with a base salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 and the opportunity to earn bonus, plus benefits.
