Product Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Product Engineer to lead the technical integration of an externally developed product into our New Product Development (NPD) and product lifecycle processes. This role will ensure that existing product designs align with our standards for safety, performance, reliability, manufacturability, and serviceability. Responsibilities Own and execute engineering activities required to transition the product from its current state to a ready-to-launch product. Implement design updates and refinements. Conduct risk assessments, including DFMEA, PFMEA, and hazard analysis. Plan and execute validation and verification processes (DVP&R). Support compliance and certification processes as necessary. Collaborate with Product Management, Industrial Design, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams. Translate existing product documentation into compliant engineering deliverables, including drawings, specifications, BOMs, and test plans. Identify and mitigate technical risks, gaps, or integration challenges. Support supplier and manufacturing readiness with a focus on design-for-manufacturing (DFM/DFA) considerations. Provide hands-on engineering leadership through launch and early production phases. Essential Skills Proven experience in new product development and mechanical engineering. Expertise in manufacturability and modeling. Proficiency in Creo and GD&T principles. Strong judgment and the ability to quickly assess and integrate designs into engineering, manufacturing, and quality systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a Senior Product Engineer or Product Manager. Capability to support engineering integration and design alignment. Ability to collaborate across multiple departments for successful product integration. Work Environment The position is primarily based in an office environment with minimal travel required to evaluate products in the field. The role is a 12-month contract focused on updating drawings, modeling, and manufacturability of newly acquired products. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Menomonee Falls, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
