Job Summary Our Development Engineer I will work out of our Commercial Markets Division will serve as the technical resource to our Sales & Operations Teams and be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and developing solutions to address issues and needs related to customer facilities. This role is responsible for the internal project development process, schedule, accuracy, and workflow. Daily components of this role include audit analysis, product specification, cost estimation, calculations of facility improvement measures, product research, and the preparation of proposals and supporting documents. All members of our team are expected to work together in a positive, respectful, and professional manner. Some travel will be required, this travel may include but is not limited to client meetings, site visits, field verifications, building assessments, and presentations. Development Engineer Responsibilities Conducts surveys of customer facilities and assess the current condition, operational performance and deficiencies of the building systems and infrastructure. Participates in site visits and project development activities of Facilities Technicians and specialty contractors. Develops and analyzes energy baselines for benchmarking. Calculates energy and operations & maintenance savings associated with proposed improvements. Participates in solution compliance with current energy and building codes. Design may be required to verify compliance with client or local AHJ standards. Supports operations team in building systems commissioning and re-commissioning activities. Participates in creation of written and oral presentations for customers. Meets regularly with the higher level development engineers to review the performance of the customer contract and in turn participates in the preparation and delivery of customer progress reports. Development Engineer Qualifications B.S. in Engineering EiT (Engineer-in-Training) is preferred 0-3 years of experience in energy engineering, facilities engineering, and design engineering Baseline knowledge of lighting energy retrofit ECM is preferred Proficient design evaluation, documentation writing skills, problem solving skills, and attention to detail. Professional communication and presentation skills. Committed team player willing to plug in where needed Work Environment & Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, phone, and keyboard. May regularly need to lift up to 20 lbs., unassisted. Up to 30 % travel will be required for internal meetings, site assessments and customer presentations.
