Job Description

This role can be based in Houston, TX or Radnor, PA About the role:
As a Business Development Engineer you'll support the growth initiatives for the Thiochemicals Business Unit in North America. The role focuses on identifying, developing, and commercializing new business opportunities across refinery, renewable energy, and petrochemical markets. Operating with a high level of autonomy, you'll manage a portfolio of ongoing opportunities, partner closely with customers and cross‑functional teams, and resolve complex technical‑commercial challenges while recommending strategic paths forward. This role is well suited for experienced engineers looking to broaden their business impact while leveraging strong technical expertise. Key Responsibilities Identify and advance new business opportunities in targeted North American markets Analyze value chains, competitive positioning, and market dynamics to support opportunity and new product development Support strategic partnerships, including Joint Development Agreements (JDAs) and Joint Ventures (JVs), and represent Arkema with customers and at industry events. Share market intelligence, customer insights, and opportunity updates with regional and global stakeholders. Skills and qualifications to succeed in the role: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is needed, with an advanced degree being preferred
At least 6 years of relevant experience, with about 3 of those years being spent in an R D, technical, or Business Development Engineer role.
Experience in the refinery, renewable energy, or petrochemical market is preferred
Ability to travel 40-50% of the time - mostly within North American, with occasional international travel
Effective communication skills with customers, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving ability
