The incumbent is skilled at dealing with all aspects of core engineering, product development, product design, intellectual property, and patents. Will bring ideas from concept phase to high volume manufacturing.
Essential Job Functions:
Manages multiple product development projects, which may include the following steps: product conceptualization, preliminary design, prototyping, project/budget presentations to executive level steering committees, final design, product tooling, testing, debugging, and product release Leads and supports continuous improvement efforts for existing products Understands the engineering principles that relate to each product line and remains current with new engineering procedures, practices, and technologies Assists in the management of all related intellectual property documentation (patent applications, issued patents, product markings, trademarks, non-disclosure agreements) and interfaces with patent attorneys as needed on a per project basis Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to make authoritative decisions based on sound engineering and business principles, and to make smart, honest decisions under pressure Ability to apply creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving complex engineering and business situations Ability to take customer needs and create highly functional and attractive designs Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Proficient with solid modeling software; SolidWorks preferred Ability to be innovative and creative as well as balanced by strong bias for continuous improvement Ability to effectively mentor teammates and to lift others Highly organized, detailed planner with strong record of flawless execution/results Ability to travel internationally Ability to create attractive and functional industrial designs Education and Experience Requirements:
Generally 1-2 years of experience Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Well-rounded mechanical experience. Experience with and working knowledge of fluid dynamics a plus. Experience creating user interfaces and designing for usability a plus. Experience with plastics and processed a plus 3D CAD software experience; SolidWorks experience a plus Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. (on occasion) Physical and Safety Requirements:

Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time. Special Risks:
