Senior Product Engineer (Mechanical) Sentry Equipment | Oconomowoc, WI (Headquarters) At Sentry, we believe great engineering goes beyond design—it's about ownership, innovation, and delivering real-world solutions that matter. What You'll Do As a Product Engineer III, you'll lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of key product lines. From concept to customer integration, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our products are innovative, manufacturable, and built to perform. In this role, you will: Lead product line ownership across the full lifecycle—from development through manufacturing and customer application Develop custom engineer-to-order solutions based on customer needs and existing product platforms Drive innovation in product design with a focus on cost, manufacturability, and performance Analyze and improve existing products for reliability, efficiency, and quality Lead cross-functional engineering projects and guide less experienced engineers and technicians Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, ATEX, TEMA, CRN, etc.) Review and approve engineering changes and design releases Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and other teams to resolve issues and improve processes Lead initiatives to improve engineering tools, processes, and overall efficiency What You Bring You're a technically strong, hands-on engineer who takes pride in your work and leads with both expertise and accountability. You enjoy digging into challenges, mentoring others, and continuously improving how things are done.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical preferred) 7+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment Strong background in: Machine design and manufacturing processes Materials and component selection Fluid dynamics and/or thermodynamics Reading and interpreting technical drawings and P&IDs Experience leading projects and driving results across cross-functional teamsHighly Preferred:
Process piping design experience Professional Engineer (PE) license Experience in nuclear energy or highly regulated industries Experience with ASME pressure vessel design or related codes Proficiency with SolidWorks, ERP systems, and engineering tools Who You Are At Sentry, we hire for both capability and character.
