Job Description

Role and Scope of Position:
The Senior Engineer will work with complex systems and equipment, while providing engineering and technical services to support our growing organization. We offer a unique and exciting opportunity to explore the best of both worlds, working both in the office and the field on a variety of interesting projects. Areas of expertise include designing new substations and infrastructure, analyzing systems and disruptions to service, working with transformers, engineering the electrical protection and control circuits that handles the flow of power, and dealing with acceptance testing of equipment, failures of equipment and analysis of system disturbances.Role and Scope of Position:
Telecommunications is responsible for the Fiber Optic network design, engineering, and execution of projects that provide communication infrastructure and services to the company. The Telecommunications Senior Engineer is responsible for generating detailed engineering designs and documentations needed for the fiber installation, configuration, and commissioning of fiber optic equipment. Distribution Engineering is responsible for the strategic development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment to provide reliable service to customers. Technical solutions and modernization initiatives are improving operations and enabling integration of renewable energy resources. The group also works to prevent, evaluate, and provide appropriate resolutions to system failures. Substation Engineering is responsible for working on substation design, maintenance, and support, optimizing the cost and performance of substation equipment on the transmission/distribution system.Essential Functions:
Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity in both inside as well as outside the scope of typical responsibility. Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities; decisions may affect the operations or results of the work group and may have some impact on major projects or department results. Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity. Conducts engineering and related studies; completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with the ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; Possesses and applies the fundamental engineering concepts, practices and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies necessary to handle assignments of increasing complexity. Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files. Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred Ability to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments. Familiarity with power related software is preferred.Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering.Experience :
Five to eight (5 to -8 years) related experience is required. Engineering design experience preferred.Licenses & Certifications:

Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. Must be available to travel betweenMA/CT/NH
