Telecommunication Development Corp. (TDC) is seeking an experienced RF Engineer or Telecommunications Technician with expertise in Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) to support our Safety and Security team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of NICET-certified personnel, assisting with testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing in-building public safety communication systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance, reliability, and operational excellence in emergency radio systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in conducting in-building public safety system acceptance and annual testing. Perform functional and coverage tests, including equipment configuration, signal strength measurements, and baseline comparisons. Support troubleshooting and fine-tuning of DAS and Emergency Responder Radio Communication Systems (ERRCS) to optimize performance. Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, including Motorola P25 Phase 2 radios. Collaborate with building owners, designers, and certified personnel to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain accurate documentation of testing results and measurements. Stay updated on technologies and best practices in public safety communication systems. Follow all regulatory and safety compliance standards during testing and system evaluations.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience with Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) or RF system testing and implementation. Familiarity with ERRCS systems and public safety communication standards. Experience with Motorola P25 Phase 2 radios or similar technologies.
Skills:
Proficiency in troubleshooting DAS and RF systems. Familiarity with DAS testing equipment including PCTel, Anritsu, and Praxsym devices. Ability to perform signal analysis and coverage assessments. Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of in-building system testing procedures and public safety requirements. Experience supporting NICET-certified personnel in public safety projects. Familiarity with project management principles for telecommunications systems.
