Job Description

Job Title:
Engineering Manager Job Description The Engineering Manager leads the successful end-to-end delivery of RF amplifier and RF module projects, from requirements definition through design, verification, and production. This role oversees and coordinates engineering functions including design, quality assurance, testing, and manufacturing, while providing strong technical leadership in RF power amplifier design. The RF Manager drives proposal efforts, manages risk in engineering processes, and mentors a growing team of RF engineers in a collaborative, high-growth environment. Responsibilities Lead RF amplifier and RF module projects from initial requirements creation through design review, design verification testing, and production release. Coordinate and oversee engineering functions including design, quality assurance, testing, and production to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification. Apply a full understanding of RF design methodologies to manage the design of RF power amplifiers and related RF modules. Review technical data, design documentation, and test results, providing clear guidance on design decisions and troubleshooting approaches. Own and manage engineering processes, identifying and mitigating technical and project risks throughout the design and development lifecycle. Participate in the review of new internal and external customer designs and requirements, ensuring feasibility and alignment with engineering capabilities. Provide hands-on technical guidance as an RF Design Manager, supporting complex amplifier design challenges and mentoring engineers on best practices. Lead and manage a small team of RF engineers, including task assignment, performance guidance, and professional development. Participate in and help manage proposal processes, including technical input, task assignment, and schedule coordination for new opportunities. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production and quality, to ensure smooth transition from design to manufacturing. Use tools such as Salesforce to support project, customer, or proposal tracking as needed. Foster a collaborative, open, and supportive engineering culture where team members can influence product direction and see designs through from concept to completion. Essential Skills 7+ years of experience in RF amplifier design. Proven experience managing and leading a small engineering team, preferably 4+ years. Strong technical expertise in RF power amplifier design and RF modules. Full understanding of RF design methodology from requirements creation through design review and design verification testing. Comprehensive understanding of engineering processes, including risk identification and risk management in RF design projects. Ability to review and interpret complex technical data and provide clear guidance on design and troubleshooting. Experience participating in and supporting proposal processes, including task assignment and schedule coordination. Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance as an RF Design Manager or equivalent leadership role. Proficiency with tools such as Salesforce for supporting project or customer-related activities. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, quality, testing, and production teams. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field. Experience working on RF/Microwave amplifiers and integrated radio systems for challenging environments such as military and commercial wireless communications, Satcom, radar, ISR, or electronic warfare applications. Experience in environments where engineers own products from concept through completion. Ability to thrive in a growing organization with expanding resources and investment. Strong mentoring and coaching skills for developing mid-level and RF engineers. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Brunswick, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $57.69 - $67.31/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
