Job Description

Position Summary:
Incumbents of this position are expected to have a broad understanding of oil field production operations including an understanding of well completions, workover, and remedial well work. Experience with well servicing equipment, pumping equipment, and downhole completion tools is desired. Will be required to provide production engineering services to maintain producing properties and operate them for maximum economic value and assure compliance with governmental regulations. Must have a working knowledge of artificial lift methods and production facility equipment. An engineer/field foreman relationship will be essential for obtaining the objectives of this position. Knowledge of production software and fundamental reservoir engineering practices and principles are a plus. Knowledge of water management facilities and practices, greenhouse gas emissions and regulations and natural gas processing facilities and operations are a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Preparation of procedures and cost estimates for completions, recompletions, and remedial well work. Optimization of completion or workover procedures to achieve maximum value. Monitoring and optimizing well production. Tracking and controlling lease operating expense. Design and engineering of artificial lift equipment. Analyze problem wells and recommend remedial action. Liaise with inter-company groups and government agencies on matters regarding the operations. Coordinate projected activities with exploration, land, operations, and other company departments. Coordinate daily operations with the rig and field supervisors. Support well operations as needed with special focus on CalGEM's Idle Well Management and Idle Well Test Plans. Yearly testing/ recertifying of injection wells. Perform reservoir studies as needed. Permitting and reporting as needed. Perform any special tasks that may be assigned which will contribute to the achievement of the Company's strategic objectives. Assist in the acquisition of new assets. Represent the corporation at regulatory hearings and industry meetings as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Engineering; Two to five years industry experience; Proficient in Excel, WellView, ProdView, OpenWells, and SROD. Excellent interpersonal and written communication, organization and analytical skills
