About Tyr Energy Development Natural Gas, LLC Tyr Energy Development Natural Gas, LLC ('TED NG') is a wholly owned affiliate of TED Renewables and Tyr Energy. Tyr Energy represents the North American cornerstone of the ITOCHU Corporation global electric power strategy, focused on clean and renewable generation and technology solutions. TED NG is active in the development and commercialization of natural gas power generation facilities. Through ITOCHU affiliates, we provide comprehensive management and oversight services to power generation and electric utility companies. Position Description TED NG is seeking an experienced Technical Engineering Specialist to support the development of new greenfield natural gas power generation plants, including both combined cycle and simple cycle plants. This role will be instrumental in interfacing with external engineering support teams, overseeing environmental and air permitting processes, and collaborating on gas turbine technology and specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to negotiate technical terms in EPC agreements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Liaison:
Serve as the primary technical resource between internal teams and external engineering support, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
Environmental Permitting:
Collaborate with environmental permitting teams to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to air quality and emissions.
Gas Turbine Technology:
Provide expertise in gas turbine technology, including specifications, performance, and integration into power generation systems.
EPC Agreements:
Assist in negotiating technical terms of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) agreements, ensuring that technical requirements are met.
Leadership Collaboration:
Act as a key liaison with leadership at Tyr Energy, TED NG, and ITOCHU, providing updates and insights on technical progress and challenges.
Project Support:
Support project managers in delivering projects on time and within budget by providing technical insights and solutions.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices in power generation technology.
Qualifications/Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field). Advanced degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of technical experience in power generation, specifically with natural gas power plants.
Natural Gas Infrastructure:
Preference for candidates with experience in natural gas infrastructure requirements and operations.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of combined cycle and simple cycle plant design and operation. Familiarity with gas turbine technologies and specifications. Understanding of environmental regulations and permitting processes.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
Negotiation Skills:
Proven ability to negotiate technical terms in contracts and agreements effectively.
Team Player:
Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
