Job Description This role provides technical leadership supporting the development, operation, and maintenance of underground natural gas storage reservoirs. The Sr. Gas Storage Specialist is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient gas storage operations while driving project execution and long-term business planning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading PHMSA Underground Gas Storage regulatory compliance, including inspections and compliance program execution
- Managing gas storage capital projects from planning through execution, including budgeting, contractor oversight, and cost control
- Maintaining and analyzing gas storage asset and reservoir data, including geological and operational performance metrics
- Overseeing construction and maintenance of gas wells, including drilling, repairs, and integrity programs
- Performing and supporting reservoir analysis, pressure testing, simulation modeling, and performance evaluations
- Developing operational strategies, capital plans, and budgets aligned with business objectives [
- Acting as a primary liaison with regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and standards

- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of gas storage or related oil & gas experience
- Experience supporting underground natural gas storage operations
- Strong background in regulatory compliance (PHMSA preferred)
- Experience with gas well operations (drilling, repairs, inspections, etc.)
- Knowledge of reservoir performance, pressure testing, and flow testing
- Ability to manage projects, budgets, and contractor work scopes
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in field environments
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Geology certification
- Experience with reservoir modeling software (LMKR GeoGraphix)
- Advanced experience with gas storage compliance
- Strong background in regulatory reporting and agency interaction
