Job Description

Apply Job Type Full-time Description Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC (MD&A), a world-class supplier of power generation services, parts, and repairs, has an immediate opening for a senior-level Gas Turbine Mechanical Engineer who wants to drive high-impact repair work in a fast-moving shop environment. The Repairs Division is seeking a Senior Gas Turbine Mechanical Engineer (7FA focus) to provide technical leadership across gas turbine repair scopes, bridging engineering, operations, and the shop floor. This role owns technical decision-making, mentors engineers, and ensures repair execution aligns with quality, schedule, and customer requirements. The work spans troubleshooting, repair engineering, process improvement, documentation discipline, and cross-functional leadership from quote-through-close. Duties & Responsibilities (include but not limited to) Serve as the technical lead for gas turbine repair work scopes, with deep focus on GE 7FA hardware and repair methodologies. Partner directly with Operations and the shop to remove blockers , resolve technical issues in real time, and drive throughput without compromising quality. Provide engineering leadership on shop execution: dispositions, rework strategy, concessions/waivers support (as applicable), and risk calls. Own and/or review engineering documentation packages (drawings, travelers/routers, inspection/test plans, work instructions, dimensional requirements, etc.). Lead cross-functional problem solving (RCA/CAPA mindset): identify failure modes, implement corrective actions, and prevent repeat issues. Mentor and upskill engineers and technical staff; elevate engineering standards, documentation quality, and engineering responsiveness to the floor. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen an existing engineering function (process, tooling, documentation controls, standard work). Maintain strong revision control discipline and ensure engineering changes are communicated and implemented cleanly. Interface with leadership and customers as needed: status, risk, technical clarity, and executive-ready updates. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; advanced degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant gas turbine experience may be considered. 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience supporting gas turbine repair, service, or manufacturing environments. Demonstrated leadership experience (technical lead, team lead, mentoring, or managing engineering contributors). Proven shop-floor experience and credibility—comfortable being hands-on, present, and decisive in a production setting. Strong, practical experience with GE 7FA platforms (required).
High autonomy:
able to run point, prioritize competing demands, and deliver outcomes with limited oversight. Strong communication skills with the ability to align shop personnel through leadership stakeholders with clear, direct messaging. Skills/Aptitudes Bias for action; makes decisions with imperfect data and manages risk appropriately. Ability to translate complex engineering into clear shop-ready execution.
