Solutions Engineer with oil/gas experience. Fulltime role onsite daily in downtown Houston, TX. 20% USA travel. Salary $110-130K plus benefits.

Role:
We are seeking an engineering-focused professional to support a Fortune 200 oil and gas client in Houston, TX. This role will support capital management planning and operational decision-making across multiple divisions, working closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams. The Solutions Engineer will play a key role in evaluating operational needs, supporting capital planning initiatives, and facilitating coordination across engineering, supply chain, and field operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering foundation, hands-on oil and gas experience, and a solid understanding of operational workflows and supply chain dynamics. This position requires regular divisional travel (20%) to engage directly with operational teams and support planning and execution efforts in the field. The role is well-suited for someone who is comfortable working across office and field environments and can translate operational realities into actionable engineering and planning insights. This role does require up to 20% travel.
Responsibilities:
? Support capital management planning efforts by analyzing operational requirements, engineering constraints, and supply chain considerations. ? Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to support planning, prioritization, and execution of capital projects. ? Evaluate operational workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness. ? Support coordination between divisional teams to ensure alignment on engineering priorities and capital initiatives. ? Participate in divisional and field meetings to gather operational input and support on-the-ground decision-making. ? Assist with tracking capital plans, engineering initiatives, and operational dependencies across divisions. ? Develop and maintain engineering, operational, and planning documentation. ? Provide analytical and engineering support to leadership for capital allocation and operational planning decisions.
Requirements:
? Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline). ? Oil and gas industry experience required, with exposure to operational environments. ? Strong understanding of upstream or midstream operations and associated supply chain processes. ? Ability to work effectively with field personnel, engineers, and leadership across divisions. ? Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. ? Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate operational needs into engineering and planning insights. ? Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams. ? Willingness to travel regularly to divisional and field locations.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Experience supporting capital planning, budgeting, or capital project execution. ? Familiarity with operational supply chain processes, procurement, and logistics. ? Experience working in large, enterprise oil and gas organizations. ? Strong proficiency with Excel or engineering analysis tools; experience with enterprise planning systems is a plus.
