  •  Conduct basic engineering analyses in support of plans, designs, specifications, standards, and system studies
  •  Apply standard engineering principles, practices, and calculations to assigned tasks
  •  Prepare or support cost estimates, specifications, and engineering documentation
  •  Assist with development and tracking of project budgets and supporting documents
  •  Perform office and field research, including verification and measurement of equipment installations
  •  Collect and validate performance data from new and existing systems against design parameters
  •  Support drafting and design efforts through engineering inputs and coordination
  •  Assist senior engineers and project teams with day to day engineering support activities
  •  Perform other duties as assigned in support of electric and gas utility operations One Paragraph Internal Role Summary The Engineer 1 provides dual fuel engineering support for electric and gas utility projects under the guidance of senior staff, contributing to the development of engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, and system studies.
This role supports project managers and engineering teams by applying standard engineering principles, performing calculations, assisting with design and documentation, and conducting office and field research. Operating in a learning focused environment, the Engineer 1 gains hands on experience across electric first, fuel neutral utility work while supporting both planned project execution and emergency response efforts.   •  Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related engineering discipline
  •  Entry level to 3 years of engineering experience (engineering design, specifications, system studies, or technical field work)
  •  Early career engineering background supporting electric and/or gas utility projects
  •  Ability to apply basic engineering principles, calculations, and standard methodologies
  •  Experience preparing or supporting engineering plans, designs, specifications, or cost estimates
  •  Comfort working under direct supervision and taking direction from senior engineers or project leads
  •  Willingness to support PM driven work assignments and adapt to shifting priorities
  •  Ability to perform office and limited field work, including data collection and verification
  •  Openness to learning utility standards, processes, safety requirements, and production workflows
  •  Willingness to support emergency response and restoration efforts as needed
  •  Possession of or progress toward an EIT certificate
  •  Utility internship, co op, or rotational program experience
  •  Experience supporting project cost estimating, scheduling, or budgeting
  •  Knowledge of engineering economics and analysis
