We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program. Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern inthe CamerasSystems team.

This teamis responsible forthe entire lifecycle of camera hardware development for the Tesla Botwhich includes lens development, camera module development, platform integration, prototyping and validation, and ramp to production. As a member of the team, you will drive mechanical design and integration of camera modules, fast prototyping and deployment for data collection hardware and fixture design for bespoke testing needs unique to imaging systems. What You'll Do Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and develop specific implementations Develop designs in CAD for both detailed parts and master model assemblies Perform tolerance analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other simulations and analyses before releasing designs for production Create 2D drawingsappropriate forhigh-volume production and inspection methods Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews with suppliers and support tooling bring up Run validation tests and perform data analysis Provide factory engineering support to helpidentifyand resolve issues Run image and stray light simulations using
