We provide an experience that allows the intern to experience life at Tesla by including them in projects that are critical to their team's success. Tesla is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern inthe CamerasSystems team.This teamis responsible forthe entire lifecycle of camera hardware development for the Tesla Botwhich includes lens development, camera module development, platform integration, prototyping and validation, and ramp to production. As a member of the team, you will drive mechanical design and integration of camera modules, fast prototyping and deployment for data collection hardware and fixture design for bespoke testing needs unique to imaging systems. What You'll Do Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and develop specific implementations Develop designs in CAD for both detailed parts and master model assemblies Perform tolerance analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other simulations and analyses before releasing designs for production Create 2D drawingsappropriate forhigh-volume production and inspection methods Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews with suppliers and support tooling bring up Run validation tests and perform data analysis Provide factory engineering support to helpidentifyand resolve issues Run image and stray light simulations using

What You'll Bring Currently pursuing a degreein Mechanical Engineering ora related field Knowledge of design for plastic injection molded, sheet metal stamping and cast parts Exposure to a variety of 3D printing methods Exposure in sensor integration forrobotics Proficient inCAD, CATIA
