Part-Time/SeasonalPOSITION SUMMARY
This part-time position supports and coaches Chadwick's Robotics program, working closely with Middle and Upper School students as they design, build, and refine robots for the annual VEX competition. The Robotics Coach plays an important role in helping students deepen their skills, strengthen teamwork, and pursue ambitious goals with curiosity, persistence, and excitement. This role is especially well suited for someone who enjoys supporting highly motivated students and helping a strong program continue to grow. The position includes after-school hours, along with some evening and weekend commitments related to competitions and team needs. The Robotics Coach must be a skilled mentor, an encouraging presence, and a steady advocate for safety in all aspects of the work.ASSOCIATED RESPONSIBILITIES
Coach and mentor Middle and Upper School students as they design, build, program, test, and improve their robots. Supervise after-school build sessions for teams of 5-8 students, typically 10-20 hours per week. Help students grow not only in technical skill, but also in collaboration, problem-solving, resilience, and competition readiness. Collaborate with other coaches to maintain and further develop curriculum, team structures, and program support as needed. Teach using student-centered, experiential, and differentiated approaches that align with Chadwick's educational philosophy. Help maintain a safe, organized, and well-functioning robotics lab. Travel occasionally to local one-day weekend tournaments, approximately four times per year, and potential for one multiple day travel tournament, Perform other duties as assigned.REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCES, AND SKILLS
Strong written and oral communication skills in English are required. Strong knowledge of relevant subject matter is required, including readiness to support students in programming. Experience with VEX robotics systems is preferred but not required. Teaching experience or experience working with students is preferred. A student-centered, innovative, and mission-aligned approach to working with young people is preferred. The ability to inspire enthusiastic students, provide clear feedback, and foster both individual growth and strong team performance is highly valued. A strong commitment to safety, organization, and positive mentorship is essential. Compensation- $45.00

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
Required to lift and carry up to a maximum of 25 lbs., in a correct manner consistent with the appropriate training provided by the School. Occasionally required to use hand to handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, grasp, talk, hear, and walk during the course of employment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and an ability to adjust focus. May use telephone, computer, copier, and other office equipment in the course of a day. Required to sit while operating word processing equipment for approximately 6-8 hours daily, repetitive motion for typing and other keystroke needs.
