At GE Appliances, we're advancing manufacturing through automation, robotics, and smart engineering. As a Senior Robotics Engineer , you'll lead the design and delivery of automation solutions that improve how we build our products. This is a hands-on role with leadership responsibility-ideal for someone who enjoys taking projects from concept through launch and making a real impact on the plant floor. In this role, you will: Lead robotic and automation system design, integration, troubleshooting, and technical support. Drive productivity through automation projects. Develop and enforce robotic, electrical, controls, and safety standards. Mentor engineers and cross-functional teams on robotics, controls, vision, and safety best practices. Evaluate emerging technologies in robotics, machine vision, simulation, and emulation. Required Technical Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on robotics and controls engineering experience. Technical engineering degree or equivalent experience. Strong FANUC and/or ABB robot experience, including electrical/mechanical systems and programming. Experience with ROBOGUIDE and/or RobotStudio. Knowledge of 2D/3D vision-guided robotic applications. Experience with DCS/SafeMove and robotic safety systems. Working knowledge of Studio 5000 Logix and PLC-to-robot interfaces. Experience specifying, sourcing, installing, and qualifying robotic automation equipment. Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo. Hands-on mechanical/electrical skills, including wiring connectors, sensors, cameras, and encoders. Strong machine vision knowledge, including FANUC iRVision, Cognex, and Keyence systems. Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate technical status clearly to leadership, engineers, operators, and skilled trades. Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field. Experience with RSLogix/Studio 5000. Robot tooling and fixturing design experience. Programming experience in Python, C, C++, C#, VB, or VB.NET. Experience with Emulate3D and physics-based virtual equipment functionality. Work Environment:
Office and manufacturing plant settings, with approximately 20-30% domestic and/or international travel. Off-shift or weekend work may occasionally be required for project implementation.
