We are seeking a Robot/Vision Engineer to lead the programming, troubleshooting, and integration of Fanuc robots, Cognex vision systems, and Matrox vision technology within our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement advanced automation solutions that drive efficiency, reliability, and safety. You will work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure seamless system performance, troubleshoot motion control challenges, and optimize programming for high-performance automation. This role is key to maintaining compliance with industry standards while minimizing downtime and continuously improving our manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Design, program, and implement robotic systems to improve automation and operational efficiency. Develop and maintain Fanuc robot programs, including path creation, tool setup, I/O mapping, and safety configurations. Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cognex In-Sight and VisionPro systems for quality assurance, alignment, and defect detection. Program and support Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) or Design Assistant vision solutions. Integrate robotics and vision systems with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and HMI interfaces. Lead the installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement of automation equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process improvements, capital projects, and new technology deployments. Perform simultaneous engineering activities with mechanical engineers and equipment suppliers. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA 79, IEC, UL). Support development and testing of advanced robotics and vision solutions, including cutting, joining, handling, laser, and AI-enabled systems. Provide project updates and technical guidance to team members and senior management. Required Qualifications At least 1 year of experience in industrial automation, robotics, and vision systems.; 3+ years preferred. Proficiency in Fanuc robot programming (TP, KAREL, handling tools, vision guidance). Experience with Cognex In-Sight and VisionPro setup, troubleshooting, and scripting. Experience with Matrox Imaging Library (MIL) or Design Assistant programming. PLC/HMI programming skills (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred). Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering, or a related field. Ability to work effectively in both central engineering and plant environments, including time on the plant floor around operating equipment. Compensation:
The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate.
