Automation Leader

Job Description A client of Insight Global in the Whitehall, MI area is seeking an Automation Leader to join their team! This individual will own the development, integration, and commissioning of robotics and automation in a high-reliability manufacturing environment. This role improves yield, reduces variation, and lowers costs by automating processes, sustaining existing systems, and deploying new equipment. This leader directs the automation team, manages projects and capital initiatives, oversees robot controls and software, and tracks performance against KPIs, budgets, and timelines. Success depends on strong technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and developing teams while driving continuous improvement and standardization.

Compensation:

$120,000 to $130,000 annually Benefit packages for this role may include healthcare insurance offerings and paid leave as provided by applicable law. Skills and Requirements Bachelors degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or operations management 5+ years of experience in a related engineering role 3+ years of leadership experience (team management) - 6-axis articulating arm robotics experience Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems including pneumatics, tooling issues, measurement feedback systems, and basic design robustness Understanding of controls and servo systems, as well as tooling and fixture design
