Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Robotics, or related field 7+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years focused on automation, robotics, AGVs, or material handling systems Proven experience leading complex, multi-vendor technical projects Strong understanding of automated wash systems, industrial controls, and facility integration Proficiency with CAD software including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit Strong customer-facing communication and cross-functional leadership skills
Responsibilities:
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the primary technical point of contact throughout the project lifecycle Lead customer meetings, design reviews, workflow discussions, and requirements gathering sessions Translate customer operational needs into engineering specifications and integrated system solutions Present technical updates, project milestones, and risk assessments to stakeholders Collaborate closely with vivarium operations teams, facility managers, researchers, and contractors Project Engineering & Technical Leadership Develop system layouts, integration plans, and equipment specifications for cage wash systems, robotics, and AGV workflows Oversee mechanical, electrical, controls, and automation engineering activities Conduct throughput analysis, feasibility studies, and workflow optimization initiatives Ensure compliance with applicable safety, facility, and industry standards Support design coordination across multiple engineering disciplines and vendors Robotics & AGV Integration Coordinate with robotics integrators and AGV vendors on system interfaces, communication protocols, and safety zones Review and approve vendor documentation including functional specifications, safety assessments, and network architecture Support integration of robotic arms, conveyors, automated dump stations, and AGV fleet management systems Participate in FAT/SAT activities, troubleshooting, commissioning, and system startup support Project Management & Execution Develop project schedules, milestones, and resource plans Monitor project progress, manage technical risks, and support issue resolution Coordinate onsite installation activities between contractors, vendors, and facility teams Manage change orders, technical deviations, and scope clarifications Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and performance expectations Testing, Validation & Documentation Lead functional testing, throughput verification, and system validation activities Prepare and review engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, manuals, and validation packages Support customer training for system operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and aligned with project requirements Why This Opportunity?
