Controls Engineer Job Description The Controls Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and developing software for industrial controls, including PLCs, machine vision systems, and robotics. This position involves interpreting, creating, and modifying electrical schematics, as well as installing, starting up, testing, and debugging equipment at customer locations. The engineer will also be responsible for the development and maintenance of technical documentation. Responsibilities Design and develop software for industrial controls such as PLCs, machine vision systems, and robotics. Interpret, create, and modify electrical schematics. Install, start-up, test, and debug equipment at customer locations. Develop and maintain technical documentation. Essential Skills Experience in controls engineering and automation. Software design skills, particularly in C#. Proficiency in programming PLCs. Experience with robotics. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Programming experience with PLCs and/or machine vision systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to independently learn and troubleshoot problems. Willingness to travel. Work Environment The role requires working onsite for five days a week with occasional travel. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.69/hr.
