This role supports automation initiatives and operational improvements in a metal fabrication environment involving cutting, punching, welding, and painting processes. You will work with cross-functional teams and vendors to integrate robotic hardware and software solutions that increase production output and reduce operating costs. Schedule Full-time, on-site. This role requires approximately 50% to 75% travel to other company manufacturing locations to support projects, automation initiatives, and operational improvements. Compensation $90,000 - $105,000 per yea What You'll Do You will design, develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC control systems and industrial automation systems, writing and maintaining software for automation and machine control while ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will program and support industrial robots for reliable, efficient operation, design algorithms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotic hardware and software. You will also develop and maintain Standard Work Instructions for production processes. You will lead or support the selection and implementation of automation equipment to increase output and reduce operating costs, and provide technical support to manufacturing operations, including machine troubleshooting and fabrication processes such as cutting, punching, welding, and painting. Analyzing production data and reports, you will identify opportunities to improve methods, tooling, equipment utilization, productivity, and quality, and work with vendors to define equipment specifications and support capital equipment purchases. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field 5 or more years of manufacturing engineering or PLC programming experience in an industrial manufacturing environment Hands-on experience with metal cutting, forming, and welding processes, including robotic welding Experience with machine design and machine control systems, including writing control logic for PLCs and CNC controls Demonstrated knowledge of equipment controls and PLC programming Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across teams Preferred Qualifications Automation and robotics experience Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies (Green or Black Belt training is a plus) Experience supporting capital equipment projects across multiple manufacturing sites Compensation and Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off Specific benefit details to be confirmed with the employer To apply, submit your resume through the application link.
