Job Description:
Senior / Principal Robotics Controls Engineer - Greenfield Automation Permanent | Full-time We are looking for a Senior or Principal Robotics Controls Engineer to join a leading manufacturer in the industrial automation sector and take ownership of exciting greenfield robotic automation projects. This is a high-impact role for a hands-on technical leader who thrives in greenfield environments. You won't be maintaining legacy systems - you'll be architecting and delivering state-of-the-art robotic production cells from concept to full production ramp-up. What you'll do: Lead the end-to-end integration of complex multi-robot cells (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA or equivalent), including EOAT, vision systems, and seamless robot-to-PLC integration. Define and own the complete cell architecture - robots, safety systems, motion control, and industrial networks. Act as the primary technical escalation point during onsite commissioning and production startup. Design, validate, and document machine safety systems in accordance with current industrial robotics standards, including risk assessments and performance level documentation. Drive technical excellence across controls, robotics, and electrical disciplines in a true system-owner capacity. What you'll need: 8+ years of progressive experience in industrial automation with a strong focus on greenfield robotics integration (full system ownership, not just subsystem support). Proven hands-on experience integrating robotic cells with PLCs, safety technology, and vision systems. Solid applied knowledge of industrial machine safety standards (risk assessments, PL/SIL, etc.) - this is essential and will be evaluated. Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting skills (Allen-Bradley experience preferred). Ability to lead technically during critical commissioning phases and solve complex cross-domain issues on the shop floor. This is a rare opportunity to work on cutting-edge, safety-critical automation projects with significant technical autonomy in a greenfield setting. If you're a senior controls/robotics engineer who loves building new systems from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.
