Job Title:
Controls Engineer Job Description Collaborate with engineering teams to develop, implement, test, and debug PLC code for a robotic automation system. This role involves using CodeSys as a development platform, primarily with Structured Text programming language, to create sophisticated automation programs. Responsibilities Develop automation programs using CodeSys, focusing on Structured Text programming language, while supporting other IEC-3 standard programming languages for PLCs. Perform integration of EtherCAT networked servo drives for synchronized motion execution of multi-axis systems with complex motion profiles. Integrate machine I/O devices, including fieldbus devices like EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, IOLink, digital and analog, utilizing CodeSys. Develop Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) applications using CodeSys HMI features and Allen-Bradley PanelView. Create Functional Safety PLC applications with Bosch Rexroth CtrlX Safety controllers integrated with Bosch Rexroth CtrlX servo drives. Apply industry best practices for PLC program development, such as variable definition, use of object-oriented programming, and identifying and avoiding race conditions. Integrate and test PLC control systems with external software applications via network interfaces using UDP and/or TCP communications protocols. Essential Skills Proficiency in PLC programming and automation. Experience with CodeSys and Structured Text programming. Knowledge of EtherCAT and troubleshooting in robotics. Familiarity with Beckhoff systems. Understanding of controls engineering principles. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with IEC-3 standard programming for PLCs. In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting robotics systems. Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience. Work Environment Work alongside a team designing advanced robotics, engaging with skilled engineers to create novel grippers, and develop cutting-edge motion plans and algorithms. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
