You will join a highly collaborative team that directly supports manufacturing, allowing you to own projects from cradle-to-grave and see your custom equipment built and implemented. The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following: Lead the design and development of complex new machinery, tooling, and automation using 3D and AutoCAD, including evaluating material selection and cost analysis Manage individual projects from concept to completion (cradle-to-grave), including preparing BOMs, coordinating testing, and leading the design team (Level II) Provide technical direction and support to shop floor personnel and maintenance to correct design problems and support process improvement/LEAN initiatives Oversee prototyping, testing, and machine startup activities, interpreting results to implement corrective actions for final run-off Analyze product designs for manufacturing feasibility and make recommendations to optimize delivery time, cost, and part quality The background of the successful candidate must include the following to be considered: 3 or more years of relevant work experience in machine design (designing equipment/machinery for manufacturing) required for Level II Associate's degree in engineering or a related field of study is required; a Bachelor's degree would be preferred Strong working knowledge of CAD systems (3D) and an understanding of machine design principles Must have hands-on mechanical interest and background (e.g., ran a mill or lathe, maintenance background) Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is preferred Possess a solid work history Being a US citizen or green card holder Having a residence within a 45-minute driveSimilar remote jobs
