Job Description This role supports the Operations Maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing material handling equipment, automated packaging systems, and pneumatic systems in a high-speed, highly automated distribution environment. You will apply your mechatronics and robotics expertise to ensure reliable operation of conveyors, robotics, and related equipment while performing both predictive and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and keep the facility running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as conveyors and automated packaging and distribution systems. Perform quality predictive and preventative maintenance routines on electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, following established documentation and procedures. Complete and document preventative maintenance activities, including PM sheets, checklists, and maintenance records. Conduct battery changes and perform preventative maintenance on industrial batteries to ensure reliable equipment operation. Enter downtime data into a daily log and maintain accurate maintenance records in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Manage, prioritize, and close work orders within the CMMS in alignment with maintenance priorities and operational needs. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on material handling equipment and automated conveyor systems. Apply knowledge of basic electrical components to diagnose issues using blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation. Perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on material handling equipment (MHE) systems, including automated conveyors and robotics. Track, organize, and store department inventory, including spare parts and critical components, to support efficient maintenance operations. Follow and demonstrate safety standards and best practices when working with MHE, robotics, and automated systems in accordance with OEM and safety guidelines. Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying recurring issues, proposing solutions, and helping implement process and equipment improvements. Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure equipment meets performance expectations. Use Microsoft Office applications to document work, prepare reports, and communicate maintenance information as needed. Essential Skills At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on industrial or automated equipment. 2+ years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls. 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics. 2+ years of knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and electronic principles. 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment. 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and performing diagnostics on MHE systems. 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications. Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Experience working with automated conveyor systems, including motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Ability to complete preventative maintenance on conveyor systems and related equipment using schematics and technical documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations systems. Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for managing work orders and maintenance records. Continuous improvement mindset with a willingness to identify and implement process improvements. Strong desire and willingness to learn and grow within a reliability and maintenance engineering environment. Experience working with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and safety regulations. Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in Mechanical or Electrical fields, or equivalent education. 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field. 2+ years of experience working with PLC-based control systems. Experience with robotic operation and maintenance in an automated or high-speed facility. Comfort working in a data-driven environment where performance is measured and tracked. Strong organizational skills for managing spare parts, documentation, and multiple maintenance tasks. Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a large, modern distribution facility equipped with high-speed automation and extensive robotic components, focusing on material handling and conveyor systems. The environment is highly data-driven, with systems in place to track performance and ensure expectations are met, while still allowing you autonomy in how you manage your work. The role is physically active and requires comfort walking significant distances, such as approximately 10,000 steps per day, and safely lifting up to 49 pounds at a time. Positions are available across various schedules, and all candidates must be open to working any 10-hour shift based on operational needs. You will regularly interact with advanced robotics, automated conveyors, industrial batteries, and related electrical and mechanical equipment in a safety-conscious, fast-paced setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Daytona Beach, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
