Job Description

Position Summary (Basic Job Function) This is a temporary or on-call position. Performs a variety of duties in support of summer camps and conferences, such as responding to participant concerns, questions and emergencies, maintaining/monitoring camp rules, checking in/out of participants, attending meetings. May involve overnight supervision of participants.
Term:
Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period. Unit Position Summary The Robotics Summer Program Mentor plays a crucial role in guiding and supporting students through their robotics learning experience. Mentors are responsible for ensuring a safe and engaging environment while assisting students in building, programming, and troubleshooting robotic challenges. They are expected to arrive on time, dress professionally, and adhere to classroom conduct guidelines, such as refraining from phone use and earbud usage during instructional time. Mentors take on additional responsibilities, including developing instructional materials, training other mentors, and assessing robot builds for accuracy. Furthermore, all mentors contribute to the continuous improvement of the program by providing feedback on successes and areas for enhancement, as well as designing new challenges to enrich student learning. By fostering an interactive and educational atmosphere, mentors play a key role in inspiring the next generation of robotics enthusiasts.
