Job Description

1st Shift Robotics Tech, Lansing $30-35/hour Fanuc Robots Weekly Pay Job Description This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, facilities, and electrical systems in a high-volume stamping and welded assembly plant with extensive robotic automation. You will work hands-on with industrial electrical systems, automated production lines, and Fanuc robots to keep operations running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, facilities, and electrical systems in a stamping and welded assembly plant. Dismantle defective machines and equipment, diagnose root causes of failure, and install new or repaired parts to restore reliable operation. Install and repair electrical apparatus up to 400 VAC and 800 amps, including transformers, power distribution components, and associated wiring. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic components of production machinery and automated equipment. Diagnose and repair automated machinery and equipment, with a strong focus on Fanuc industrial robots and related automation systems. Perform Fanuc robot troubleshooting, including touching up robot points, moving spot welds, and adjusting programs as needed to support production. Understand and work with robot and automation I/O (inputs and outputs) to identify and resolve communication and signal issues. Home robots and restore them to safe, known positions to support startup, changeovers, and recovery from faults. Support robotic spot welding operations by maintaining weld programs, verifying weld quality, and ensuring correct robot paths and parameters. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support installation and troubleshooting activities. Support programmable logic controller (PLC)-based automation systems, particularly Allen-Bradley platforms, as part of the overall maintenance strategy. Perform basic welding as needed to support equipment installation, modification, and repair. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime, improve equipment reliability, and support new project launches. Follow safety procedures and best practices when working with high-voltage equipment, robotics, and automated systems. Document maintenance work, repairs, and modifications to ensure accurate records and support continuous improvement. Essential Skills Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in stamping and welded assembly operations. Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial electrical systems up to 400 VAC and 800 amps. Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing Fanuc industrial robots in a production environment. Ability to perform Fanuc robot troubleshooting, including touching up robot points, moving spot welds, and adjusting robot paths. Capability to understand and work with robot I/O (inputs and outputs) to diagnose control and communication issues. Experience homing robots and safely recovering from faults and interruptions. Practical knowledge of robotic spot welding processes and associated equipment. Experience with industrial automation systems, including robots, PLCs, and related control hardware. Familiarity with Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers and automation components. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills for machinery, equipment, and facility systems. Experience with basic welding techniques to support equipment installation and repair. Comfort working with high-voltage equipment and adherence to electrical safety standards. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex issues in automated production systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a large stamping and welded assembly plant environment. Exposure to high-volume automotive manufacturing or similar industries. Hands-on experience with a high concentration of Fanuc robots in production settings. Years of experience in maintaining automated welding cells and robotic welding applications. Familiarity with continuous improvement and reliability-focused maintenance practices. Comfort working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with new product launches. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Ledge, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
