Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strive to achieve company objectives while demonstrating company's Mission Statement, Quality Policy, and Ridgeview Principles in the performance of daily activities. Set-up, troubleshoot, and repair automated welding equipment according to departmental instructions following Governmental and/or Company safety and housekeeping policies/procedures. Follow all safety policies and consistently use required personal protective equipment. Actively support safety initiatives; including hazard identification, Take-2 conversations and proactive risk reduction. Ensure quality requirements are achieved by reading and following Quality communications, and following established process. Identify and communicate discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory issues to leadership. Perform machine setup and change over per change point and WPS instructions and provide first piece for quality inspection. Troubleshoot automated welding equipment, such as: Robotic MIG, resistance, and spot welding. Resolve robotic weld failures, wire feed issues, torch contact problems, and gas flow issues. Replace tips, contact tips, nozzles, electrodes, etc to maintain weld fixtures. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned. Utilize troubleshooting techniques (root cause analysis) to identify and eliminate recurring equipment issues. Respond to equipment breakdowns with urgency to reduce downtime and support operational efficiency. Document maintenance activities, repairs and downtime in work order or CMMS systems. Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, adjustments, and repairs to minimize downtime. Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment in alignment with 5S standards. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • 3-5 years of experience with Robotic MIG welding and Resistance Welding preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent education, (GED)
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English. Ability to speak effectively, present information, and respond to questions from other employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics and 24v sensors.
  • Working knowledge of mill and lathe preferred.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills with ability to maintain work order logs.
  • Eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Data driven approach to problem solving and decision making.

  • Ability to lift, carry and move equipment, tools and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Extensive walking, standing, and climbing ladders throughout entire shift.
  • Crouch, bend, crawl, kneel, stoop and reach.
Speak, hear and listen in environment with significant background noise. Good hearing and vision; including up close and color vision adequate to perform job. Work Environment This position is performed in an active metal manufacturing environment. Employees work around operating machinery, moving mechanical equipment, powered industrial vehicles, overhead cranes, and heavy steel machines. The role involves exposure to elevated noise level, airborne industrial particles, vibration, temperature variations, and typical production floor activities including handling metal product that may have sharp edges.
