Robotic Technician
RESPONSIBILITIES
Robotic technicians operate automated CNC machines and welding systems, playing a key role in production support on shop floors. They work alongside engineers and production teams to fine-tune robotic positions keep systems running smoothly. Set up programs and maintain automated robotic systems up and running. Key duties include troubleshooting robots, controllers and performing preventative maintenance. The role requires proficiency in material handling robotic Nachi, Yaskawa Motoman and Fanuc programming, and safety protocols. Install, program, troubleshoot, adjust machine tending robots' path and ensure part load unload precisely into the CNC machines and welding equipment. Do monitor the machine tending automation, enhance the reliability and productivity of robotic equipment and meet production targets Troubleshoot, program, and maintain robotic systems to ensure optimal performance. Setting up, calibrating, and testing robotic arms and sensors Performing regular preventive and predictive maintenance on robotic systems Use tools like calipers and gauges. Document and report process variations or quality issues. Diagnose and fix issues with robots, systems and controllers to minimize downtime. Adhere to all safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow environmental guidelines and maintain a clean and organized workspace Interpret technical drawings and follow established procedures accurately Assist and train team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
QUALIFICATION AND KNOWLEDGE
A minimum of 3 years' experience with robotic systems like
FANUC, OTC
Daihen, Nachi, and Yaskawa Motoman Experience in programming multi-axis robotic systems Proven troubleshooting skills with mechanical and electrical systems Experience with CAD/CAM and knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems is a plus Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently or collaboratively Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and call-ins as required Technical diploma or associate degree in robotics automation Ability to read and interpret technical documents like blueprints, prints, and check sheets. Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting, standing, and other repetitive motions. Firm understanding of safety procedures, regulations including MIOSHA, Government and ability to work in a manufacturing environment Ability to work at a computer workstation using MS office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Strong sense of time management and urgency Ability to manage, navigate unexpected challenges with a focus to rapidly find solutions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting, squatting, walking, bending 8 -10 hours per day
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
- Must be able to work in different weather conditions
- Exposure to production environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This role functions in CNC machining, Robotic Welding and Assembly shop environment
- This role routinely uses standard and special purpose equipment such as Automation, CNC machines, robots welding, assembly fixtures and tools
- Technicians often work in automated production cells
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment when in a production area
- Follow Safety protocol as per Company safety standards and MIOSHA regulations
