Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Robotic Welding Technician to join our growing manufacturing team. The Robotic Welding Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring robotic welding equipment in the Mid-Land Enterprises fabrication shop to support production for customer components and assemblies. This role focuses on running established robot welding programs, performing quality checks, identifying issues, and communicating effectively with internal leadership and external robotic welding support personnel when troubleshooting is required. This is a junior technician role designed for individuals who are dependable, mechanically inclined, safety focused, and willing to learn robotic welding systems and fabrication processes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Safely operate robotic welding systems in a fabrication shop environment. Support the loading and unloading of fabricated components and materials into welding fixtures and jigs. Start, monitor, and stop robot welding programs according to established operating procedures. Verify parts are correctly positioned prior to weld cycles. Perform visual inspections of welded parts to identify missed welds, incomplete welds, defects, or quality concerns. Follow all welding robot operating procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements. Conduct basic troubleshooting of robotic welding equipment and production issues. Identify and communicate equipment malfunctions, programming concerns, or production abnormalities to supervisors and maintenance personnel. Coordinate with internal personnel and external robotic welding support teams when technical assistance is required. Maintain accurate production records, inspection checklists, and shift communication logs. Keep work area clean and organized in accordance with housekeeping and safety expectations. Support continuous improvement efforts related to robotic welding operations, efficiency, and quality. Assist with preventive maintenance activities and routine equipment checks as assigned. Operate forklifts or material handling equipment if properly trained and authorized. Adhere to all company safety policies, PPE requirements, and fabrication shop rules. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Second Shift Availability Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn robotic welding systems. Ability to follow written and verbal operating procedures. Ability to identify basic weld quality concerns and production defects. Strong attention to detail and consistency. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Basic computer and touchscreen interface skills. Ability to communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, maintenance personnel, and outside technical support representatives. Ability to work independently with limited supervision after training. Preferred Qualifications Previous manufacturing, fabrication, welding, or machine operation experience. PROCORE Experience operating automated or robotic equipment. Basic welding knowledge or familiarity with weld symbols and fabrication drawings. Forklift or overhead crane experience. Experience working in a fast-paced production environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during shift. Ability to lift, push, and pull materials up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to bend, kneel, squat, climb ladders, and work around fabrication equipment. Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled fabrication shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, sparks, and moving equipment. Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, steel toe boots, hearing protection, hard hats, and welding PPE as required.
