Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Robotic Welding Technician to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain automated robotic welding systems. This position supports production by ensuring robotic welding equipment runs safely, efficiently, and consistently while producing parts that meet quality requirements. This role offers a significant amount of overtime, and candidates must be flexible to work extended hours and additional shifts as production demands require. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor robotic welding machines used to fabricate metal products and assemblies Start, monitor, and adjust robotic welding production lines Modify computer-controlled robot movements, positions, speeds, and weld paths Develop and improve robotic path motions to maximize safety, quality, and production efficiency Conduct trial runs and make necessary equipment adjustments before beginning production Observe meters, gauges, weld quality, and machine operation to ensure processes meet specifications Adjust controls, robot positions, fixtures, and holding devices to correct production issues Stop equipment and production when unsafe conditions, defective parts, or quality concerns are identified Inspect, measure, and test completed metal components using measuring and testing equipment Verify finished products meet drawings, specifications, and quality requirements Troubleshoot robotic systems, welding equipment, fixtures, sensors, and related components Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on robotic systems and welding equipment Clean, lubricate, maintain, and adjust equipment using hand tools, air hoses, and cleaning materials Evaluate robotic system efficiency and reliability Reprogram, calibrate, or adjust robotic systems to improve product quality and production output Compute and document equipment settings for new jobs using welding knowledge, shop mathematics, and an understanding of metal properties Provide guidance to other employees regarding machine setup, operation, and safe equipment use Maintain accurate production, setup, maintenance, and quality documentation Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor or manager Qualifications Previous experience operating, setting up, or maintaining robotic welding systems Experience working with automated welding production lines Ability to modify robot movements, positions, and welding paths Knowledge of welding processes, metal properties, and basic shop mathematics Mechanical troubleshooting and equipment maintenance experience Ability to use hand tools, measuring tools, and testing equipment Ability to inspect completed parts and identify welding or dimensional defects Ability to read work instructions, specifications, and technical documentation Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts Ability to troubleshoot production problems and make equipment adjustments Strong communication skills and ability to provide direction to other employees Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Availability to work substantial overtime, including extended shifts and weekends as needed
