RME Senior Mechanical & Robotics Technician (Maintenance Technician III) Job Description This role leads a team of service technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. The Maintenance Technician III designs practical solutions for complex technical problems, supports ongoing operations, and ensures that mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems run safely, efficiently, and reliably in a high-throughput environment. Responsibilities Lead and guide service technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues on robotics, conveyors, and related automation systems. Perform detailed PLC troubleshooting and editing to support system performance and resolve control-related issues. Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to identify faults and implement effective repairs. Repair, adjust, and maintain conveyor systems and other material handling equipment to minimize downtime. Design and implement solutions for difficult maintenance and reliability problems, focusing on root cause and long-term fixes. Manage maintenance-related projects from planning through completion, including coordinating tasks, resources, and timelines. Support the Operations Maintenance team by providing technical expertise, guidance, and hands-on support during critical issues. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system changes to ensure accurate records and knowledge sharing. Promote safe work practices and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety standards and procedures. Essential Skills Proven experience as a maintenance technician working with automated packaging and distribution equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical systems. Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic PLC program editing. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and technical diagrams. Demonstrated capability to repair and maintain conveyor systems and related material handling equipment. Experience leading or mentoring other technicians in a maintenance or operations environment. Willingness to work and remain open to all shifts in a contract-based role. Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on practical, sustainable solutions. Effective communication skills to coordinate with technicians, operations teams, and other stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with robotics or advanced automation systems in an industrial setting. Both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting across a variety of equipment types. Familiarity with industrial control systems and safety practices for automated equipment. Ability to manage multiple maintenance projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Comfort with documenting technical work, updates, and changes to equipment or systems. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in an automated packaging and distribution facility that relies on conveyors, robotics, and advanced control systems. The position is contract-based and requires openness to all shifts, which may include days, nights, weekends, or rotating schedules depending on operational needs. You can expect a highly technical, industrial setting where collaboration with other technicians and operations staff is essential, and appropriate industrial work attire and safety gear are used daily. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McKinney, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $42.65 - $42.65/hr.
