Job Description

Field Engineer•Solar & BESS An established renewable energy EPC is looking to bring on a Field Engineer to support a growing portfolio of solar and battery storage projects across the U.S. This individual will work across multiple projects at various stages and play a key role in site execution, QA/QC, and commissioning activities. Role Overview This position is highly field-focused and requires the ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously. The Field Engineer will support project delivery from site assessment through commissioning, working closely with internal teams and subcontractors across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes. Key Responsibilities Conduct site assessments, inspections, and quality control reviews Support commissioning activities including inverter startup, testing, and troubleshooting Oversee installation across civil, mechanical, DC/AC electrical, and MV systems Coordinate with subcontractors and support scheduling activities Assist with project documentation, commissioning reports, and turnover packages Provide field-level troubleshooting support, including coordination with remote engineering teams Ensure adherence to safety standards and internal quality procedures Qualifications Experience supporting construction and/or engineering of solar or energy infrastructure projects Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics Familiarity with PV systems, BESS, SCADA, and power systems Solid organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project) Comfortable working in dynamic, fast-paced field environments
Preferred:
OSHA-30 certification NABCEP certification (PV Installation preferred) Familiarity with NEC and industry standards Drone license or field data collection experience Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent field experience Travel ~75% travel to project sites nationwide (including some air travel) Remaining time remote with occasional visits to a central office Compensation & Benefits (Can be adjusted as needed) Competitive base salary (typically in the $120-130k range) Full health coverage for employee 401(k) with employer contribution Bonus eligibility Generous PTO policy Job Alerts Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Industrial Hygienist
