Full Job Description Description:
Dynamic Civil Solutions (DCS) is a leading civil engineering firm based in downtown Birmingham. We are growing and currently seeking various levels of Survey Technician/Instrument Person to join our team on site at our Birmingham, Alabama office. We offer competitive compensation• (BOE), plus the Benefits listed below. The Survey Technician/Instrument Person will play a key role in our survey team, responsible for operating and maintaining survey instruments and equipment. This role is crucial for collecting accurate data and supporting various surveying projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in the field under various conditions.
Compensation Note:

Survey Technician/Instrument Person:
Field Operations:
o Operate and maintain survey instruments and equipment, including total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors. o Conduct field surveys, including boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys, ensuring accuracy and precision.
Data Collection:
o Accurately record survey data and field notes, maintaining detailed and organized records. o Transfer collected data to appropriate software and assist in data processing and analysis.
Collaboration:
o Work closely with surveyors, engineers, and other team members to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met. o Communicate effectively with project managers regarding survey progress and findings.
Equipment Maintenance:
o Perform routine maintenance and calibration of survey instruments to ensure optimal performance. o Report any equipment issues or malfunctions promptly to the survey manager.
Safety and Compliance:
o Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while working in the field. o Ensure all survey activities comply with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
Requirements:
Qualifications for the
Survey Technician/Instrument Person:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in surveying, geomatics, or related field preferred. Proficiency in operating survey instruments and equipment. Strong understanding of survey principles and practices. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
